Greetings to you all.
Oh, to be a young lesbian, again. I'm rather enjoying myself on this site as I drop into various topics and read what you are all chatting about.
I was fortunate because I was around back in the day when the lesbian music movement was beginning; Olivia Records was in its infancy with Holly Near,Cris Williamson,Meg Christian,Trent Furre, the Millington Sisters and so many other wonderful women. Feminism was sprouting her wings and we were empowering ourselves as women and lesbians. Disco was taking over the Gay Bars and the bar scene was where women met,( besides the softball field or basketball court) unless you were fortunate to be in San Francisco or another metropolis that offered women's Book Stores.
Gaydar? Many claimed to have it yet, I was never so impudent to say yeah or nay regarding women. I always use to say," if she isn't she could/should be."
I think we women need to bring back woman spaces. Just saying.... For lesbian wisdom, might I suggest a 30 year old publication that is free if one doesn't have the funds and easy to sign up for: The Lesbian Connection. Worldwide publication. One of their issues lists volunteer lesbians in most states and providences that can be a resource for lesbian connections.
