new here nervous as hell

I have never used a dating site ever in my life and considering I am nearing 50 this is something totally foreign and new to me. But I am slightly frustrated with trying to actually meet people in the world because everyone I have met face to face over the last few years have been losers. I do not know if this site will work but I am giving it a try none the less. I will give it six months or so and if nothing comes from it i will move on to a different site or something else entirely. 

I am definitely looking for a long term relationship not interested in flings, one night stands or the such. I am at the point in my life where I want to find a life partner (I have been here for a while).  So for those looking for a long term thing I am interested in that.
